I was pleased to join local forces to mark Firefighters’ Memorial Day to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the line of duty. Across the country, thousands of firefighters, bereaved families, supporters and well-wishers observed one minute’s silence at midday at fire stations.
