Following the publication of Martin's Grimsby Telegraph article on smoking in cars with children present, he has been awarded The Freedom Association's Parliamentarian of the Week award. The Freedom Association's statement is below:
MARTIN VICKERS MP IS THE FREEDOM ASSOCIATION'S PARLIAMENTARIAN OF THE WEEK

Martin Vickers MP has "proven himself to be a firm advocate of individual freedom and liberty" and therefore The Freedom Association has decided to make him their Parliamentarian of the Week.
The Freedom Association is always delighted to support those parliamentarians who have made a contribution to freedom and liberty, regardless of the political party they are a member of.
Each week either an MP, MEP or Peer is chosen and awarded the accolade of 'Parliamentarian of the Week' in recognition of their valuable work.
This week's winner is Martin Vickers MP, Conservative Member of Parliament for Cleethorpes.
Following the publication of his article Has UK Freedom Taken Another Blow? in the Grimsby Telegraph, in response to the smoking ban in cars when children are present, Martin Vickers MP has proven himself to be an advocate for protecting individual freedom in the UK.
On announcing Martin Vickers MP as The Freedom Association Parliamentarian of the Week, Andrew Allison, Campaign Manager at the Freedom Association said:
"In a very thoughtful article, Martin Vickers MP, asks the question: Has UK freedom taken another blow?
"While responding to the disappointing vote in Parliament which sought to restrict smoking in cars, Martin Vickers MP discussed the UK's relationship with the state and the very nature of free speech itself.
