Martin joined Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Grove, on Saturday night to discover the challenges local people, businesses and the police face with weekend drinking. The outing afforded these groups the opportunity to raise issues surrounding extended-hours licensing with their elected representatives.
Martin said in the Commons:
“Last Saturday night and into Sunday morning, I went out on patrol with Humberside police officers, the excellent Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside, Matthew Grove, and the magnificent street angels into the streets of Cleethorpes to view the night-time economy. It became evident that a review of the current licensing laws is necessary."
