In Cleethorpes, on Friday the 6 of November, Suzanne Allott and Tracey Leigh Members of staff from the Guide Dogs team in Beverley Hull, did a blindfold walk with MP Martin Vickers in Cleethorpes. As well as providing an insight into the work carried out by Guide Dogs they will be encouraging Martin to support the second reading of the pavement parking bill on the 4th of December. The bill is a private members bill being brought by MP Simon Hoare that aims to simplify the law and make parking on pavements the exception rather than the rule. The bill, which has cross party support, will allow pavement parking only in certain designated areas.
After the walk Mr Vickers said “it’s quite an experience, something that can’t be wholly imagined. I was somewhat apprehensive even with Suzanne and Tracey walking with me. The dogs are magnificent and I can fully understand the bond that builds up between them and their owners. They are so sensitive to every movement, guidance and instructions they receive.”
