MP for the Cleethorpes constituency, Martin Vickers, has brought the fantastic 'Discover North East Lincolnshire' event to the attention of the House of Commons.
The event, attended by Martin last Thursday, saw the launch of 'Discover North East Lincolnshire', promoting the area as a great place to work, stay and play.
Martin took an opportunity in the House of Commons to mention the launch to the Secretary of State for Communtities and Local Government, Eric Pickles.
Martin asked Mr Pickles:
"Last Thursday evening, I attended the launch of Discover North East Lincolnshire, a private sector initiative that has been created in partnership with the local council. Will the Secretary of State compliment those involved and give an assurance that a future Conservative Government will build on the successes of the coalition Government in supporting such initiatives?"
The Secretary of State responded, congratulating all involved in the event:
"I congratulate my hon. Friend and his constituents on that fine initiative. That is exactly the kind of thing we should be doing, and I look forward to it going from strength to strength."
The Grimsby Telegraph also picked up on Martin's question in the House of Commons. The paper's coverage can be found here: http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/Discover-North-East-Lincolnshire-quickly/story-26186034-detail/story.html
