Cleethorpes MP, Martin Vickers, raised the announcement of the Grimsby police control room closure with the Minister of State for Policing, Mike Penning MP.
Following Martin's question in the House of Commons, the Minister agreed not only to meet with Martin to discuss the closure, but also to visit the Cleethorpes constituency.
Martin said: "I am delighted that the Policing Minister has agreed to visit my constituency, during which the closure will be raised. Potential job losses are a worry not simply for those employed in the control room, but as a loss of local knowledge could impact upon response times and efficiency."
Martin has already discussed constituents' concerns over the closure with Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Grove. Mr Grove agreed with Martin to attend three public meetings throughout the Cleethorpes constituency during which residents will be able to put forward questions.
In addition to the meeting with Matthew Grove, Martin joined neighbouring MP, Austin Mitchell, in meeting the Humberside Police divisional commander, where the control room was discussed.
