Last Friday, I met the Chief Constable of Humberside Police. One of the issues we discussed was the concerns of many shop keeps regarding the £200 threshold that must be met before the police will investigate a crime.
The Chief Constable assured me that this does not apply in Humberside where a more sensible approach is taken and the police will investigate crimes regardless of value.
I welcome this news and encourage the police to be very proactive in tackling a crime that can destroy a small, local business.
