Martin Vickers took part in a major debate on the Humberside economy in Parliament this week.
Martin says “Politicians from all sides were united in their appreciation for what the government has achieved so far.”
The schemes that have benefitted the region include, the dramatic reduction of Humber Bridge tolls, the introduction of two of the largest enterprise zones in the country, several successful Regional Growth Fund bids, and the much needed A160 road upgrade and Immingham bypass development.
Martin elaborates that “the scale of job losses in recent weeks has resulted in calls for more government help to support the region through the current economic recovery. We will be pleased to welcome the Treasury Minister, Sajid Javid MP, to the area. This will be an excellent opportunity to make the case for how the Humberside economy can benefit from working in partnership with the government.”
