Following his attendance to the annual Westminster meeting of the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions, Martin asked the Leader of the House, Andrew Lansley, to find time for a debate to consider how seaside town could be best supported and encouraged.
Andrew Lansley took the opportunity to highlight the seriousness this Government has taken the needs of coastal towns; in 2012, the Government created the £23.7 million Coastal Communities fund. The Leader of the House stated that this was increased in August last year to £29 million, and that it will be extended to 2016.
