On the 4th of November, Crohn’s and Colitis UK joined forces with television presenter Carrie Grant and the MP for Cleethorpes, Martin Vickers, at the parliamentary launch of their new patient resource ‘My Crohn’s and Colitis Care’. The event, which was hosted by Martin Vickers and neighbouring MP Andrew Percy, helped to raise awareness of these debilitating conditions and highlighted the need for better healthcare provisions for all of those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) across the UK. Around 300,000 people in the UK are living with the two main forms of IBD: Crohn’s or Colitis, which are chronic conditions.
Commenting on the launch, Martin said:
“I am pleased that I was able to attend, and support, the launch of the ‘My Crohn’s and Colitis Care’ patient guide. This important resource will prove valuable for those living with Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, or for those who have friends or family with these diseases. Crohn’s and Colitis UK offer great support to those that suffer with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and this launch has raised awareness of IBD more generally.”
