It was great to meet the "Wootton Wonders" from Wootton St Andrews primary school in Tesco this weekend.
The group are taking part in Humbersdie Police's Lifestyle project with the aim of combating and raising awareness of loneliness.
Over summer they made weekly visits to a residential home, getting to know the residents and keeping them company.
They also held two bake sales, making alpine planters and ‘bee bombs’. The children prepared the scones and jam with local chef, Nigel Brown - baking them on the day of the tea.
As well as this, they sold raffle tickets - raising enough money to hold an afternoon tea for 56 older people and to pay for four village benches.
