Martin Vickers MP and Lia Nici MP have launched the ‘Northern Lincolnshire Unsung Hero Awards’ to recognise those in our community who are going above and beyond to help others during this difficult time.
This may include those who are looking out for their neighbours, delivering essential supplies to vulnerable people, supporting key workers or providing a friendly conversation to those who are isolating alone during the Coronavirus outbreak, who normally would not receive – or expect – recognition for their work.
There are many people who are selflessly going out of their way to help neighbours, friends and strangers get through this tough time. Many of these everyday heroes go unrecognised. Local residents can nominate a friend or neighbour by emailing their local MP using the following details:
Cleethorpes - [email protected]
Great Grimsby - [email protected]
Please provide the name and postcode of the nominee as well as a reason for the nomination.
Winners will be decided and announced on a weekly basis via the MPs’ websites as well as the Northern. Lincolnshire Unsung Hero Awards Facebook page. Winners of the Award will be presented with a certificate for their valiant effort during the lockdown period.
Commenting on the launch of the Award, Martin Vickers MP said:
I am pleased to be launching these awards with my neighbouring MP, Lia Nici.
Up and down the country, people are going above and beyond the call of duty to make life a little easier during this unprecedented crisis. This is no different in Northern Lincolnshire where we have seen communities pulling together to overcome hardship.
Throughout our communities, there are special individuals who are going that extra mile to care for their family, friends and neighbours and we want to give local residents the opportunity to nominate them for public recognition and thanks for their selfless actions.
